Conahy National School

Conahy National School

St. Colman’s National School is a co-educational, Catholic, primary school which strikes to provide a well ordered, caring, happy and secure atmosphere where the intellectual, spiritual, physical, moral and cultural needs of the pupils are identified and addressed.

There is a large sports pitch and a soccer court on the tar for wet weather. There is a basketball court and a variety of line markings on the yard to encourage activity.
The school has access to the local community hall beside the school for PE lessons on wet days, for school plays and other activities.

The school has a lovely garden which encompasses our green ethos and our fifth green flag on biodiversity. We are currently going for our sixth green flag.

Inside the school, the classrooms are equipped with the latest technological resources including an IPad for each child.

In St. Colman’s N.S. we have a shared learning support/resource teacher to ensure that all pupils achieve basic literacy and numeracy skills by the time they complete their primary education. We aim to support pupils experiencing learning difficulties through a team approach involving the pupil, class teacher, learning support/ resource team, parents, and other relevant personnel i.e. psychologist, speech therapists etc. Resource teaching hours and SNA support is available to specified pupils approved by the DES.

Principal: John Meagher.
