St. Brendan's National School is situated in the village of Muckalee which is eight miles from Kilkenny city. There are now seven classrooms, a sports hall, a reading room, a resource room and a staffroom. The infants are facilitated in the first refurbished rooms and there are separate toilets and also separate cloakrooms for the boys and girls. The school is well equipped with educational aids and also has a well-stocked library. The IT facilities in the school are comprehensive and are availed of by all students. There are ten teachers on the staff, seven mainstream teachers and learning support/resource teachers and our Principal Kevin Cummins.  School begins at 9.20am and ends at 3.00pm (2.00pm for the infant classes). There is also an active and thriving Parents Council in the school.
