St John's Senior School is situated in Ballybough Street, Kilkenny. It is a Senior Co-Educational school catering for pupils from third to sixth class.

Staff: Principal, six Class Teachers, Learning Support Teacher, Part-Time Resource Teacher, Two Classroom Assistants, a secretary, a caretaker, a Home/School/Community Liaison Co-Ordinator and a visiting French Teacher.

The school has a dedicated computer room with 13 computers which offers every child an opportunity to develop their computer skills. The computer room has also been used for computer courses for parents.

Children in 5th and 6th classes also have the opportunity to learn French with lessons taking place twice a week.

Sports are played both in school and as part of extra-curricular activities and include: Hurling, Gaelic Football, Camogie, Handball, Basketball, Badminton, Volley-Ball, Soccer, Swimming and Athletics.

All pupils in the school have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument ranging from recorder to cello and be part of the school orchestra as well as the school choir.
