Rock climbing on the quarry face is a very popular pastime. Climbers from all over Ireland come throughout the year to sample the multitude of climbs.

There is a booklet of the various climbs available in “The Pound” pub in Ballycallan (only open in the evenings).
Climbing can take place at any time but evenings and weekends are the most popular.

Various outdoor activity/adventure groups use the quarry for training purposes during day-time.

For safety reasons, there should be at least two climbers in the quarry when participating in the sport.

Solo climbers can often arrange to meet with other climbers through the climbing website www.climbing.ie
