  • Coláiste Eamon Rís

    Coláiste Éamann Rís, Callan is a Catholic school inspired by the vision of Blessed Edmund Rice. The central purpose of the school is the religious, moral, intellectual, physical and social education of the student in an atmosphere of Christian care and concern.

    Places are available for boys (12 years+) who have completed their Primary school education or its equivalent.

It is a non-selective school, enrolling pupils of the full ability range from all sections of the social strata. It is co-educational with a policy of eliminating gender bias, encouraging girls to study traditional boy’s subjects and vice versa. It provides religious education for all denominations.

  • Our Lady of Lourdes

    Our Lady Of Lourdes Secondary School is a small single sex all girls school under the trusteeship of the Bishop of Ossory. Established in 1924 by the Holy Faith Sisters the school was one of the best known boarding schools in the country for many years. The Holy Faith Sisters withdrew from Rosbercon in 1998 when the first lay Principal was appointed. The school currently has 280 students enrolled. The school offers the full range of subjects up to Higher Level at Leaving Certificate.

    Scoil Aireagail is committed to the educational welfare of its entire community. This includes staff, students, parents and the wider population we serve.

    We do not stream in first year. Our assessment test allows us to establish an equitable ability spread throughout our classes. Is also gives us a base line on each student against which we can gauge progress in subsequent years. We have on staff an experienced group of support education teachers who assess all incoming students The details of this assessment then forms part of the student’s profile.
